Drag to see the difference

Three recent jobs: a storm repair, a chimney leak and a full replacement. Pull the yellow handle across each photo.

A small leak is the cheapest it will ever be

Most roof damage starts small and stays out of sight. By the time it shows on a ceiling, it has usually been working on the wood for a while.

What you seeA stain, a drip, a bucket.

What's above itWet decking, soaked insulation, mold starting.
01

Water travels

It runs along rafters and shows up rooms away. The stain you see is rarely the whole problem.

02

Wet decking rots

Plywood that stays damp softens and has to be cut out. A patch turns into sheet-by-sheet replacement.

03

Insulation quits

Soaked insulation stops insulating, traps moisture against the wood and runs up your energy bill.

04

Mold starts in the dark

Attics are warm, closed and rarely checked. That's exactly where mold grows.

05

One shingle invites the next

Wind catches an exposed edge and lifts the shingles around it in the next storm.

06

Claims have deadlines

Many policies require storm damage to be reported within a set window. Check yours before it closes.

Six layers between you and the weather

Shingles are only the part you can see. Every Ridgeback replacement goes down in this order, over a deck we've checked by hand.

    How a replacement goes

The same five steps on every job, from the first ladder to the last nail swept off your lawn.

    STEP 1 · 45 MIN · FREE

    Inspect

We walk the roof and check the attic, chalk-mark every hail hit and photograph it all. You get the photos either way.

    STEP 2 · MORNING OF DAY 1

    Tear-off

The old roof comes off to the deck. Tarps go over your shrubs and everything drops straight into the dumpster.

    STEP 3 · DAY 1

    Fix the deck

Any soft or rotted plywood gets cut out and replaced at a price per sheet that's printed on your estimate.

    STEP 4 · DAY 1–2

    Install

Drip edge, ice and water shield, synthetic underlayment, then shingles course by course and a ridge vent on top.

STEP 5 · BEFORE WE LEAVE

    Clean up

A magnetic sweep of the lawn and driveway for nails, then a final walk-around with you.

Roofers price by the square, 100 square feet of roof. Put in your footprint and pitch and see roughly what we'll see on the tape.
